About the Author

The trail guides on this site are written by Shin Jeong-min (신정민), who runs Ojick.com and lives in Busan.

He hikes eight or more times a month. The short version of why this site exists: Korea has an unusual landscape — mountains and city pressed into each other, trails that begin at subway exits — and almost none of it is written down in a language a visitor can read.

  • Busan five-mountain traverse — 2024, 2025 and 2026

How that shows up in the guides

Course pages are written from repeated visits — usually three to five on the same route — not from a single walk and not from other people’s write-ups. Photographs are taken on those visits.

It also shapes what gets written down. Whether a section has shade matters more than how scenic it is. Where you can stop and get a bus matters more than the view from the top. Those are the things you notice on the third walk, not the first.

Where the expertise stops

This site also covers light aesthetic treatments, because many visitors combine the two. That is not a medical qualification and is not presented as one. Nothing here advises anyone on recovery, suitability or risk — that belongs to the clinic that examines you. What this site can tell you is precisely what a given trail demands, so you can hold the two against each other.

Come along

There is a walking schedule every month. If you live in Korea and want to join one, you are welcome. Coffee and something to eat are provided.

If you are on a course described here and something has changed — a closure, a diversion, a bus stop that has moved — please say so. Corrections are the most useful thing a reader sends.

Disclosure

This is not a non-commercial site. Sponsorship from clinics or travel businesses may be accepted in future. If it is, it will be disclosed on the pages it affects, and it will not change which routes are recommended or what is said about them. No commission is taken on clinic appointments and no tours are sold.
